Remember this every time you get pulled over. Remember this when you walk into a yarn store. Remember this every time you vote. Remember this every time a loved one makes a racist comment or joke. Remember this, and speak up. Your voice matters. VOTE. Write to your elected officials. Sign every petition. Protest. If you can, give financially to organizations AND directly to individuals. If you benefit from white privilege, use it to make the world safe for those who don’t. If comments are turned off it means I’m unable to moderate them, but let me be clear: if you disagree with me, this space isn’t for you and you might as well just unfollow.
Oh hey there finished shawl! 😍 I’ve been in a bit of a knitting funk but finishing a project seriously helped. I needed something fast and furious, so I opted for the #SummerShawl by @stashlounge / @awesomeveronicamurphy . Hi! How’s everyone doing? I think I’m slowly starting to feel like my normal self. I’ve done a little bit more knitting in the last week than I have in a while so that’s a good sign. ❤️ I started the #delphiniashawl by @ambahobrien using @qingfibre and @flockfibre ☺️ I got inspired while making shawl kits with @thatchristinelandry and had to take these home. Hi friends, I hope you’re all doing okay. I know I’ve been quiet around here. Honestly, I’m struggling. This is hard. It’s really, really hard. And I just wanted to come here and say that it’s okay if you’re feeling the same way. It’s okay if you’re not “accomplishing” anything during this. It’s okay if you haven’t picked up your knitting. It’s okay if you didn’t learn a new skill. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. This is a super traumatic experience, and you don’t have to “be productive” during a pandemic. It’s okay if you’re scared, or overwhelmed. I’ve barely been able to knit a stitch since this started. I did manage to start a sweet little stripy sock with some @tinyhumanknits yarn, and this cute @tamarny kit I got at @stashlounge, but stitches are few and far between, and probably will be for awhile. Anyways, I know it helps me to have my feelings validated, so if any of you are feeling the way I am - it’s okay. And you’re not alone. I took some cuttings of this little plant, and after a long week was surprised with this little flower. There’s probably a metaphor here somewhere, probably about resilience, but I’m too tired to think of it.
