Happy Friday, everybody! I’m so excited to announce the release of my newest pattern: The Fairy Dust Socks! It’s a gloomy, smokey day in Calgary with a horrible air quality index (10+ – the highest it gets!) so it’s a great day to stay inside and knit.

I was fortunate enough to collaborate with Kelli of The Red Pansy for this design! When I first laid eyes on the “Fairy Dust” colourway, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it. My design process isn’t always this efficient – sometimes what I think I want to make with the yarn, doesn’t end up being what I make. (I have another collaboration in progress with another wonderful dyer that I’ll talk more about how ideas change and evolve later!) But in this case, I knew this was the perfect yarn to compliment my lacy sock dreams.

When chatting with Kelli about how we wanted to approach the collaboration, she had an AMAZING suggestion. I wanted to offer a free copy of the pattern to everyone who purchased some sock yarn from her, and she made it even better by including a 15% discount. Making designs and yarn accessible whenever possible is very near and dear to my heart, so I was overjoyed that Kelli wanted to help with that!

SO, this weekend (Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, 2019) you can get any sock yarn for 15% off (including this beautiful colourway), PLUS the fairy dust pattern for free! Just use the code FAIRYDUSTSOCK on The Red Pansy website (or click here to have the discount automatically applied.) If you’re not in the market for yarn, you can get the pattern on Ravelry for 20% off all weekend – no code needed.

Another little add on is I included (and plan on updating other patterns to include) is information on how to modify the pattern to fit wider calves! It’s not a perfect step by step, but includes suggestions on cast ons and decreases – I am also ALWAYS available to help with modifying one of my patterns to better fit you.

Once again, shout out to my AMAZING test knitters – check out their projects on Ravelry and show them some love!
